Somehow, little Alexis, you’ve gone and turned one. I know every mama says it, but it feels like I just brought you home. You were tiny and sweet, and content to be held for hours. And now you’re becoming a big girl, so busy learning so many amazing new things. You are on the cusp of walking, standing and creeping everywhere you can. You babble all the time, and have so many new words. Turtle, owl, teddy, all done, five. You sign for “milk” and you give high fives. You wave at everybody. And you let it be known when you are not happy.
You are still the sweetest thing, but you have become so much more, too. You are bright, and interested, and funny. I have loved watching you grow this last year and I can’t wait to see what your second year will bring. Thank you, thank you, for making me your mama. It’s the best job I’ve ever had.
