Last month I signed up for Package Pals at C.R.A.F.T. Everyone is assigned a partner, and you send each other a crafty package. Crafts and mail? How could I resist. Even with a time-sucking newborn in the house, I went ahead and signed up, and I’m glad I did.
Because of aforementioned baby, I didn’t venture too far out of my comfort zone when creating the package for my partner. I looked through her blog and pinterest for inspiration. (You should definitely check out her blog, too. She’s hilarious.) Laurel and I both have little girls, and I thought a set of pink Mama and Baby Hootie Owls was in order.
I also included a little gathered fabric basket (see A Spoonful of Sugar to make your own). I thought it might help with a little organization, or double as a little nest for the owls. I wanted to include something sewn, since as creative as Laurel is, she doesn’t sew.
My wonderful partner, Laurel at A Bubbly Life, sent me some art to complete Alexis’ nursery. I didn’t know it was missing until it arrived. She did a great job coming up with something that is just perfect. Husband, and by default, daughter, are Star Wars geeks. Alexis already had a Yoda doll and R2D2 with realistic beeps to decorate her nursey, but she was, as Laurel astutely noted, missing some art.
She made three version of this printable: Rainbow (pictured), pastel, and blue and yellow. The blue and yellow matched the nursery, but a little too well. The rainbow one really pops on the wall, and works well next to the totally unrelated billy goat picture (see below.)
Thanks, Laurel! We all love the new art. And thanks to C.R.A.F.T. for hosting package pals.
