Baby weighs about 3 pounds now and is working on putting on fat to smooth out wrinkly skin. Instead, baby is working on making a wrinkly brain, and if my absent-mindedness of late says anything about baby stealing my brain cells, we’re going to have one smart little person! Science probably says it doesn’t work that way, but I really want to believe someone is putting my brain cells to good use, since it seems like I’m not.
Baby continues to be active, and I’ve started counting movements each day to make sure there’s at least 10 in an hour. So far, so good. Of course, baby is still being difficult about performing for daddy, and very rarely moves when he tries to feel. Our stubborn child.
Yesterday I finally bought the fabric for the crib skirt. I had wonderful plans to actually make the thing, too, but it didn’t happen. Perhaps I can get it done before next week. Other baby things I need to do this week: make up my mind about cloth diapers (there are so many kinds!) and tour the other two hospitals in town. My weekly pregnancy email told me that this week I really ought to think about packing my hospital bag. Because there are only 11 weeks left. Part of me is a little overwhelmed about this imminent major life change.
